Vicky Boyd

Vicky Boyd is the daughter of Robert and Joanne Nichols who worked in Japan preaching the gospel for 50 years. Vicky is married to Ken Boyd and they have lived in Tucson, AZ since 1987.  They were married in 1972 after meeting at Florida College.  They have 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. They love to spend time with their family and travel often to visit with them.  Their children are all Christians and raising their children in the Lord.

Teaching in Ethiopia

Ken is retired from a career in Computer Engineering, working for the IBM Corporation and other storage technology companies.  Ken has numerous patents in the area of computer storage systems.  Ken has a B.S. Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a MBA from the University of Arizona.

Vicky has a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education from State University of New York and a Master’s degree in Math Education from University of Arizona.  While raising her family she worked from home as a math tutor and piano teacher. She taught high school math in a charter school for ten years after the children were grown. Vicky’s hobbies are sewing, quilting and playing the piano.

Ken & Vicky are both active in church activities at Northside Church of Christ in Tucson, AZ.  Ken teaches occasionally and presents lessons as he has the opportunity.  Vicky is a passionate educator of children and, in addition to teaching children in general, has developed classes for children, young girls and women of all ages.

Ken & Vicky were honored in 2025 to be invited to work with the brethren in Ethiopia, and pray that God’s blessings will continue to be on the Christians there. Ken and Vicky have enjoyed travelling the world as they have had opportunity. There is so much beauty in the world to be explored.
